Peak limit calculator
Enter how much you drive and when your car is at home. You can see which limit for the power consumption of your home and charging station can serve as a starting point. We also estimate the capacity tariff if that peak returns every month.
This calculation provides a guideline value for a home in Flanders with a digital meter. It does not change your physical main fuse and does not predict your entire energy bill. With a social rate you do not pay a capacity tariff. With a classic meter, your actual monthly peak is not measured.
For the cost estimate we use the Flemish average of € 53.39 per kW per year excluding VAT for 2026. We assume that the calculated peak returns every month. The average of your monthly peaks counts for your invoice. The exact rate depends on your network area.
Your actual consumption depends on the temperature, your driving style, the phases used and the devices operating simultaneously. For a multi-phase connection, your installer will need to check the current on each phase to determine the correct ampere limit. We do not count on solar panels or a home battery always being able to provide sufficient power. Never set a limit via the app or other software higher than the electrical protection allows.
What the calculator does
The calculator estimates how much power your car needs for your daily journeys. It takes into account the time you have to charge and the electricity that your home uses at the same time.
The proposed limit applies to the electricity that your home and charging station together draw from the grid. Estimated costs are based on the average Flemish capacity tariff for 2026. Your connection must support this power level. The result is an estimate; your actual energy bill may differ.
